"Celebrate" - Owl Graduation Card

We are busy getting ready for graduation in our house right now. I saw the cutest card on Pinterest and I had to make something similar. The owls are cut from a Stampin' Up punch. The grad cap is from the "Locker Talk" Cricut cartridge. The "celebrate" is from the "Holiday Cakes" Cricut cartridge. I love the googly eyes. I love the song from Rascal Flatts "My Wish" and this blog has a print out that I am using for the inside of the card.... go check it out!!!
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

Stay tuned for a Graduation Road of Life Survival Kit....

DIY Mother's Day Basket - Kick up Your Feet

I am always trying to think up unique ideas for Mother's Day gifts. This year's gift is a "Kick up your feet and relax" gift basket.

I bought items that had to do with "feet" and relaxing. Of course I had to buy some chocolate as well.
I put the epsom salts in a more appealing package than the milk carton it came in, and the chocolates as well. The little bags I made for the chocolates are so easy and can be whipped up in a minute.

I put all the contents in a box bag - CLICK HERE FOR TUTORIAL. I used cellophane instead of paper. I customized the cellophane by stamping with white acrylic paint - using a small flower foam stamp. With the box bag I started with an 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock and I scored at 2 inches each side. I embellished the bag using dry embossed paper and an edging.  I made a tag and tied it on to the box bag. I hope this gives you some ideas. Happy Mother's Day!!

Sew in Love - Marriage Survival Sewing Kit

Wedding bells are ringing again - so it was time to make a different survival kit. This one was for a bridal shower gift - "Sew in Love" marriage survival sewing kit. I bought a sewing kit along with a few other items and put the following tags on different items in the kit:
(right click on image, copy and paste to your favorite publishing program and print)

Thread: Love is the thread that binds you together. Sew with threads of kindness, gratitude and patience.
Seam ripper: As you sew, so shall you rip. When you make a mistake you can resolved it and start over again.

Fabric: Family is the fabric of life. Your marriage is the start of your family. Make of it what you will.
Scissors: Cut out the "I" and "MY" and substitute "WE" and "OUR". Every decision must take into consideration that there are two or more affected by it.

Pins:  Avoid ceaseless pinpricking. Generally each of us is painfully aware of our weaknesses and we don't need frequent reminders.
Measuring Tape: Go to great lengths to make your marriage work.

Buttons: Always be open and straightforward with each other. Issues are not resolved through buttoned lips - but rather kind and honest ones.

After printing out the tags, I cut them out and tied them to the corresponding items.

Then I wrapped up the kit and added the description tag.

Survival kits are so much fun to make, and the bonus -  no one else will have the same gift.
