Wood You Be My Valentine Gift Bag

 Welcome to my blog! Here is a quick gift bag that you can put together to put some chocolates or other Valentine goodies in. I always have a difficult time with Valentine ideas for my husband. I found this adorable idea HERE (seriously cute - go check it out). With Valentine's day being tomorrow I needed to make due with what I had - so I dug into my wrapping paper collection to make this gift bag. You can make any size you want. My bag has a 4"x4" base and is 12 inches high. I used the bottom of an already made box and ripped the top off. Find out how to make the rest of it by going to the tutorial here. This bag takes less 

than 5 minutes to make. 

I made a wood look tag and adhered it to the bag. The inspiration for this bag was from a blog called Constantly Stamping. She used a real wood disc for the tag- please check it out HERE.

Love You All Year Valentine Calendar

Hello and welcome to my blog. With Valentine's Day just around the corner I wanted to get this project done that has been floating around in my brain for a while. I have wanted to give my husband a playful calendar with sexy pictures of what I will wear some time in that particular month. This year we will have been married for 23 years. I like to keep things interesting and the spark a glowing. One of my favorite quotes about marriage is this one - "Marriage can be more of an exultant ecstasy than the human mind can conceive. This is within the reach of every couple, every person. There is nothing unholy or degrading about sexuality itself, for by that means men and women join in a process of creation AND in an expression of love." Spencer W. Kimball.

I made up a "theme" for each month, found or thought of a Valentine-ish saying, and collected some outfits that would work for each one. I did try to make the themes according to my hubbies interests like hockey, dirt biking and his profession, fire fighting. There are all sorts of other themes that would be fun like fishermen (You're a great catch!),  hunter (I'm aiming for you), etc., etc.

These are the themes I chose:

January - Baby It's Cold Outside - Warm me Up (white winter furry coat)

February - You Stole my Heart (cop outfit)

March - Wanna Get Lucky?  (St. Patrick's day green attire)

April - Spring Fever (nurse outfit)

May - You're the Goal I'm After (female cut hockey jersey)

June - I'm Wild About You (animal print outfit)

July - You Light My Fire (fireman outfit)

August - You've Roped Me in Cowboy (cowgirl outfit)

September - You Rev Up my Motor (leather jacket, helmet)

October - Trick or Treat? (little red riding hood)

November - You are Fan Tache Tic (mustache prop)

December - Santa Has a Little Gift For You (Santa Suit)

I am not the type of girl who feels comfortable dressing up in skimpies and posing in front of a camera. I did feel better not having a cameraman other than my tripod and timer. I set up a black curtain for a back drop and went for it. I had a lot of fun and of course I look forward to giving this gift to my hubby soon. I am even thinking of another calendar for next year. 

I apologize that I am having a hard time loading my pdf files as my computer is old and Google won't let me load the files unless I upgrade my browser, which it no longer supports. I am working on getting a new computer some time this year. If you would like the file please email me. Woodland Valentine Cards

I wanted to make some unique cards to give out at school on Valentine's Day. I love this free Woodland Critter file I found via Pinterest called In The Woods by Harper Finch - check out website...

One little critter (the squirrel) on here was found on this website.

After printing the images on card stock and cutting them out, I inked around the edges.

Valentine Paper Candy Bouquet

I made these bouquets for a surprise Valentine that I left at the recipients door. These are paper hearts with conversation hearts inside of them. 

I printed the hearts out on different colored cardstock. I used a hot glue to glue the hearts together making a pocket so I could add a few candies to each one, and then gluing the bottom shut after inserting a skewer. 

For the base I used a large soup tin, put plaster in the bottom for weight, and glued a styrofoam ball in the bottom to insert the heart skewers. I filled the can with shredded paper.

The paper hearts I made had a spiritual message on the backside that are below if you would like to used them.

Valentine Bouquet

I made this simple Valentine bouquet for my nieces birthday present. I utilized a few ideas I gathered via Pinterest. I love it when I actually do ideas that I have pinned.

For the base I used a medium sized can. I printed a script background on to drop cloth material. For the tutorial CLICK HERE. I found the image via Melz Stamps - CLICK HERE for the link.

I glued the fabric with hot glue to the can. I made a felt rosette and glued that to the top of the can.

Before making the bouquet - I added some weight to the can. I put about four rocks in the bottom, and then made some plaster and covered the rocks.

I hot glued a styrofoam ball in the can and put in the skewers that I had decorated. I made two paper hearts (filled with candies). I added a gift card to the mini envelope I hot glued on to a skewer. I also clipped on a keychain I made to a skewer (click here for keychain tutorial). For the last step, I added some shredded tissue to the can to cover the styrofoam.

This was a fun project!

DIY Fabric Key Chain

I made these key chains last year to put in a Valentine's Day goodie basket. I am making a few more this year to give as quick and easy Valentine's gifts. Here is how I made them:

I made the images on my favorite computer program and printed them out on drop cloth. I adhered an

 8 1/2 x 11 piece of fabric to a piece of card stock with double sided tape at the top. For a full tutorial on how to print on fabric - CLICK HERE.  

I cut out the image leaving a border around the heart so I could fray the edges. I added a strip of frayed fabric (folded in half to make a loop )to the inside top left corner of the heart to hold the key ring. I sewed around the heart right next to the black ink - leaving an inch and a half open to put in a bit of stuffing. I sewed it close after I stuffed it. Add a key ring to the loop or leave it as it is to use
as a gift topper.

Masculine Valentine's Day Card Ideas

I find making cards for my husband a challenge. I am so thankful for those who create wonderful ideas for the men in our lives. Each picture below links to my blog posts for that particular card. And this year I made this card....

The idea was from "Just Give Me Stamps" and you need to check out her colorful card HERE!

I printed out my colors (see images below) tore the paper in sections, and pasted the strips on to a black card stock card. I printed out a clip art TV found HERE. I printed it out in grayscale from my computer. I added a sparkly heart sticker to the middle of the TV and that made for an easy card.

Deluxe Card For Your Significant Other

I made this card a few years ago for my husband for our anniversary.  It is an envelope album.

I call this a "deluxe" card as it is much more than a regular card. I put marriage quotes in the album, along with some personal "love notes". I also added some pictures of us as a couple.

I Love You Like a Love Song - Valentine Gift For Your Man

Hello! Welcome to my blog! 

I just finished my husband's Valentine's Day gift. It is similar to this wedding gift I made last summer...

I knew then that I wanted to make a Valentine's Day version of it. This gift was inspired by love songs. I chose six songs that have meaning to my husband and I - you know those ones that you have to get up and dance to. I chose an item that related to each song and wrote a little bit of a verse of the song on a tag. Here is what is in the gift pack.... 

1. Everything I Do, I Do it For You - by Bryan Adams. This was our wedding song. I bought Mountain Dew. On the tag I put - "You know it's true, everything I do, I DEW it for you."

2. Unchained Melody - by The Righteous Brothers. This is one of my hubbies favorites. I bought Oh Henry's because of the marketing campaign they had with the question Oh Hungry? On the tag I put "Oh my love, my darling, I've HUNGERED for your touch."

3. Your Still the One - by Shania Twain. I bought hot lips and Hershey Kisses to go with the line from the song that says "You're still the one I KISS good night."


4. Remember When - by Alan Jackson.  I made a Memory Album . I also made a stand for the album as I want to display this on my coffee table (click here for tutorial).

5. Amazed - by Lonestar.  I bought "Sidekicks" to go with the words, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you by my SIDE, forever and ever.

6. Remind Me - by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. I had a candle and matches to go with the words, "So on FIRE and so in love". I made custom matches by using a book of matches as my template to cut and score some card stock exactly, and I stapled the matches in the new matchbook.
