Happy Campers Marriage Survival Kit - Take Two

 Hello! Welcome to my blog! My sister got married last summer. What do you give someone who has everything? A creative gift of course! Since survival kits are my thing - my sister was definitely getting one. She already got a wedding day survival kit for her bridal shower. When giving marriage survival kits I try to think of what the couple is interested in. I also consider what season of the year we are in.  My brother in law was big time into camping and my sister, well, not so much. I thought a happy camper marriage survival kit was perfect! I had already made a Happy Camper marriage survival kit for an anniversary present (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT) but I wanted to update the graphics and also I purchased a few different things as well. I borrowed ideas from other survival kits I have made as well (CLICK HERE TO SEE ALL MY SURVIVAL KITS).

Here is a list of what ended up in this one:

I love shopping at Winners as I can find nice unique stuff there. I lucked out to find adventure/travel type merchandise like the water bottle and flashlight. I purchased a really nice blanket there as well.

I put it all in a bag that I found at Hobby Lobby when I went on a trip to the States.  

The tags can be found HERE. They are free to download for personal use. I like to put quotes with the tags so if you are into the quotes, cut them out and paste them to the back of the corresponding graphic.

Wedding Day Survival Kit - Wedding Shower Gift Idea

Welcome to my blog! My sister got married last year and I made her a wedding day survival kit. Survival kits are my thing. I love unique and creative gifts and if you have been to my blog before, you have seen a lot of survival kits. Check out my other wedding day survival kit HERE - it is boring but pretty.

My sister had a natural theme for her wedding so I wanted to  go with that theme. First thing I needed to do was find a bag I liked to fit some stuff and the kit took off from there. I found this bag in the cosmetic bag section at Winners.

Winners also had some cute supplies in their cosmetics and travel section. I found the lip balm, a travel sewing kit, and lotion there. 

Here is a list of the contents along with the saying I put with the items. I wanted some kind of snack - I chose a Clif bar because my brother-in-law's name is Cliff, so this was very handy. I had a different saying on the tag - for a personalized touch (You raised the bar when you found Cliff! Feed your adventure!)

My sister loved the gift and it came in handy at the wedding. The tags are free for personal use. For the tags go HERE.

Happiness is Homemade Marriage Survival Kit Take Two

Hello! Welcome to my blog! Last year I made a marriage survival kit with this same theme (CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT). I found some adorable kitchen items at Michael's but only one of the items was the same as the gift basket last year, so I needed to make some new sayings and new tags. Here is what is in the kit.

The tags are free for personal use. Find the tag file HERE. I attached the corresponding tag to each item. I put them in a box and tied lace around the box to dress it up. If you want to add the quotes - cut the quote part a little smaller and glue on the back.

Home Sweet Home - Marriage Survival Kit

Hello! Welcome to my blog! Here is my latest marriage survival kit. It is similar to my "Happiness is Homemade" kit which also includes a bunch of kitchen items, this one does not have the sayings that rhyme. This is what I put in it:

I purchased all the items from Home Sense. I loved the bright colors for a spring wedding shower. The tags are free for personal use. You can find them by clicking here.

I put all items in a bowl and attached the corresponding tag to each item.  I tied tulle around the bowl and attached an adorable little whisk. I usually tie the tag around the bowl, but with the which there I just placed it on top of the items. I also used to put a plastic bag around the kit but this time I left it open and I liked it better.

You Are Not Old, You are a Classic - Vintage Survival Kit

Hello! Welcome to my blog! My husband had a milestone birthday recently. I was not too hard on him. He got some useful items in a car themed birthday bucket. Here is what I put in the Vintage Survival Kit:

Reap What You Sow - Marriage Survival Kit

It is that time of year again - WEDDING SEASON! I have not had to organize a wedding yet, but a lot of my friends have - thus, I get to create a lot of wedding gifts. This couple had already been set up in there house so I needed to think beyond the kitchen and household items that are usually given. And so - the REAP WHAT YOU SOW marriage survival kit was invented. Here is what I put in the kit:

1. Don't get choked out with weeds - Garden Tools. I purchased mine at Canadian Tire but I also saw a similar set at Costco.

2. Work together, hand in hand - Garden gloves.

3. Plant your roots in fertile ground - potting mix.

4. Don't let your love wilt - watering can.

5. Cut out the dead wood to allow for new growth - pruning shears

6. Add the essential nutrients - Miracle Grow

Each tag has a corresponding quote which has a suggestion on strengthening marriage which relates to the title on the tag. I printed each set out on card stock. I put the quote tag behind the title tag.

I purchased a large galvanized bucket from a Dollar Store and fastened burlap and lace around it to match the tags.

Old Man Survival Tool Kit

Hello! Welcome to my blog! There are a lot of milestone birthdays in my family this year. My step dad was turning 70, and that was an opportunity calling out for an Old Man Survival Kit.

I had to go to the store to get some inspiration. I went down the handy man aisle at the local dollar store and came up with these ideas....

1. Magnifying glasses - for when you are blind.
I found the perfect nerdy magnifying glasses at the dollar store.

2. Duct tape - for when you fall apart

3. Mini screwdrivers - for when a screw's loose.

Other items I had to go to a hardware store or grocery store for...

4. Fake Jar of Viagra Pills - Stud Finder -  No explanation here. I printed off a background picture of viagra pills. I placed them inside a jar. This looked so good. I will have to do a post on how to do it. I put peanuts in a bag inside the jar. I made a drug label and adhered it to the jar.

5. Calking - for when you spring a leak.

6. WD - 40 - for when your joints seize up.

Hello! Welcome to my blog! I am so excited that summer is pretty much upon us!! I am a big time survival kit nut, especially for marriage survival. The sky is the limit for themes and I am excited to post the latest one - Happy Camper Survival Kit. This can be used as an anniversary gift / wedding shower gift. Happiness Is Homemade - Marriage Survival Kit

With wedding season well upon us I felt the need to get some creative juices flowing to make another survival kit. This idea is for personal use only. I have seen some of my other kit ideas made into scrapbook items for sale. If you are using this idea for purposes other than gifts the honorable thing would be to contact me for permission. It does take a lot of time to put these kits together and to find out by surprise that someone has been profiting off of work I have done is kind of a downer. Now that uncomfortable item of business is out of the way - let's get on to the fun!!

This survival kit is an analogy on how to make a happy marriage baking style. Here is what I put in it:

1. Bowl

I made up little rhymes to go on each one. 

Here are marriage quotes to go with each one of the tags. I pasted them on to the back of the poem. These quotes are all from leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 Hello! Welcome to my blog! It is has been an exciting year at my house. I started a new career (hence the fewer posts I have been able to do) while my husband retired from his career. Due to my love of making survival kits - a retirement one was inevitable. Here is what I put in it:

Print out the tags, trim, punch holes in corner, use twine/ribbon to tie to items. I put all the items in the waste basket, added some tissue, tied the tag to the front and it was finished! Have fun and get creative!! I would love to hear the different items and/or sayings you come up with!!

Woman of God Survival Kit

 Hello! Welcome to my blog! I made this gift last year and didn't have to time to post it on my blog in time for Christmas. I have given this gift to people that I work closely with at church over the years. Although I hope they find value in the gift, I know that I always benefit from it as I ponder the analogies and lessons with each item. Here is what I put in the gift....
